A 100 DAYS CAMPAIGN LAUNCH FOR KIDS AMBULANCE AT AAPC
Ansuaa Ababio Pediatric Centre of the Dormaa Presbyterian hospital in the Brong Ahafo region has launched a 100 days campaign to raise funds in support of the purchase of an Ambulance and a transport the incubator.
At a launch of the fund-raising, the doctor in charge of the facility, Dr. Adoma Dwomo-Fokuo said this has been necessitated due to numerous challenges patients referred to the facility endure in the course of treatment. Among the drawbacks are some children die on their way to the hospital as means of transport becomes a challenge while some referred children sustain injuries journeying to the facility coupled with lack of trained staff by these facilities that refer patients. Dr. Adoma Fokuo said when the ambulance is purchased, the challenge of transporting or referring these kids to better facilities would become a thing of the past.
She entreated individuals as well as corporate institutions to generously donate in support of this project dubbed #KIDSAMBULANCE#.
Dr. Harry Acquah also of the hospital said in 2017 at least six children were referred monthly to the hospital with the number rising to eight per month this year from various health facilities in its catchment area. The center renders services to people from western and other parts of Brong Ahafo as well as the Ivory Coast. Generally the Centre sees children from day one to year 12.
The Centre over the past years has created a paradise for sick children with timely care and child friendly atmosphere.
