The Deputy Bono Regional Director of the Electoral Commission of Ghana(E.C),Mr Frank Ohene Okraku, has refuted allegations that the commission was working against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Party,in compiling a credible Voters Register.
In an interview with Suncity Radio, Mr Okraku said the EC was neither adding nor withdrawing any names from the Voter Register to suit or disadvantage any Political Party.
"How on earth can we (EC)know which people belong to NPP and NDC,in all polling stations across the country, to play bias as being alleged (especially by the NDC)",he quiried.
He used the opportunity to urge all registered voters, to take the on-going exhibition of the Voters Register serious and verify their data,in order to exercise their franchise, come December 7th.
The Deputy Regional Director indicated that all anomalies associated with the registration exercise, which were mostly digital (but not deliberate) were being addressed by the EC and expressed the hope that the commission will strife to present a credible register, to ensure free and fair elections in the December polls.
He said the online verification was progressing well, and urged the electorate to Text their Voter ID number to short code 1422, to be sure of their chances to vote on December 7th 2020.
The EC's Voter Register exhibition exercise which started on Friday,18th September, will end on Sunday,27th September,2020.
